RAGAMUFFIN, THE GULLIBLE INNOCENCE
Presumably this breed was a result of cross-breeding a Ragdoll cat and a breedless black cat. It is still unknown, whether the Ragdoll cat decided to "befriend" a breedless cat or breeders were trying to expand a Ragdoll breed.

But eventually, when the breed was recognized, the name of the breed was changed to Ragamuffin. The name also reminds us that the blood of a purebred cat flows through Ragamuffin's veins, and hints that their nature and appearance resembles charming Ragdoll.
Breed was recognized by ACFA (American Cat Fanciers Association) and CFA in 2003.
Appearance:
Ragamuffins have a well developed musculature and a large long body. Head is wedge-shaped, with large ears rounded at the ends. Strong long legs, with fluffy "pants" on the hind legs, which are also longer then the front ones.
Eyes are oval shaped, slanted, with a variety of colors in a blue - green range. Ragamuffins have a long silky coat, which can be of any color, with a fluffy "collar" around the neck. Tail is long, very fluffy, tapered at an end.
Character:
By their nature Ragamuffins are very tender and affectionate, inherited from the most affectionate cat - Ragdoll.
They are very peaceful and quiet, unable to fight back and stand up for themselves. You can swaddle and hold them in your hands like infants. But it is not advised to do so, it is rather cruel to abuse Ragamuffins patience and gullibility.
These cats have a sharp mind and wit. Quickly adapt to new conditions. They easily get accustomed to the home routine. Will quickly learn what they can and can not do. The only thing Ragamuffins can't - hunt. These skills, unfortunately, have been lost in the process of selection. So all the fish, birds, and other small animals living in the neighborhood are safe. Even the mice and other rodents will be ignored by Ragamuffin.
Ragamuffins are always in a dire need of socialization. They get bored fast in the absence of the owner, and are prone to depression. Despite such a sociable character, they don't like to attract attention, and won't ask you to pet and caress them.
Ragamuffins are defenseless like children.
If you have small children in the family, make sure they know how to play with a cat without hurting him. Ragamuffin won't be able to protect himself, and will quietly endure any mischief, no matter how bad and injuring it might be.
