Asian Shorthair Cat Breed

ASIAN SHORTHAIR, FLEXIBLE GRACE

The first representatives of this breed were bred in 1981 in the UK. The breed was obtained by crossing Chinchilla Longhair  and Burmese cats. And they were short-haired cats with a shiny black coat, but later, the cats with other coat color were developed (such as tabby and smoky).

Asian shorthair cats are medium in size and weight (4-7 kg) with a muscular torso and long legs. Ears are well set, medium sized and slightly rounded. The eyes are either green or yellow, almond shaped. The tail is long with a rounded tip.

Coat - short, soft to the touch. Coat colors: purple, cream, red, blue, chocolate, black, caramel or apricot. If the cat is cream-colored, there might be rings and stripes of different colors on the legs. Asian shorthair cats are graceful, flexible and mobile.

              Character:

Asian shorthair cats are very gentle, kind and sociable. Very attached to their master, but unobtrusive. They don't require any physical contact, all they need is to be around their master. Feel comfortable during short term separation, but if the master is gone for a long time - the cats start feeling lonely, sad and depressed. If you are planning to be away for a long periods of time, consider the company for your cat.

Asian shorthair are popular because they are the most intelligent and clever cats.

They get along very well with other cats, and even with dogs. So if you have a cat or dog, but you are planning to have another pet, the representatives of this breed will fit perfectly into your home zoo.

Asian shorthair cats are very curious, no box or shelf (even your bag) will be left without attention. Everything will be sniffed out. Their curious nose will not lose sight of any new little things.

Very active and mobile, love to play, especially with children. Conflictless and patient. Won't hurt the child, but they can also stand up for themselves.

Health:

Asian shorthair cat inherited excellent health from it's ancestors. No special hereditary specific diseases have been identified. The average life expectancy from 14 to 16 years, but with proper care can live up to 20 years.
